Description
Our client is a privately owned banking institution based in Bermuda. They are actively seeking an experienced and proven IT professional to assume responsibility for developing and implementing overall policy, plans and programs related to I.T. with long term strategic impact across multiple group companies.

The Senior Vice President, Information Systems & Technology (SVP, IS&T) is responsible for the overall management of the IT department (Infrastructure; Software Solutions; Information Security) ensuring the bank’s information systems and technology are secure, available and meet the current and projected needs of the bank. The successful candidate should have knowledge of Banking and the systems used in Banking. Additionally he / she must have a broad base of knowledge and experience in the following functional areas: Programming; Server Technology; Networks; Project Management; Security, Compliance and Audit; Analysis & Design / Architecture; Data Management; QA/Test; Vendor Management; Site Management; Help Desk

Duties and Responsibilities:

•        The definition and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan
•        Defining and enforcing the IT processes used by the organization
•        Managing, directing and guiding IT human resources
•        Ensuring that IT delivers quality solutions to the Bank
•        Acquiring and maintaining application software and its supporting infrastructure
•        Managing third-party services/vendors so as to minimize the risk presented by non-performing suppliers
•        Managing system performance and capacity so that information resources are continually available to users
•        Ensuring continuous service that minimises the probability and impact of a major IT service interruption on key business functions and processes
•        Assessing, managing and minimizing IT risks, ensuring systems security to minimise the business impact of security vulnerabilities and incidents
•        Managing service desk and incidents: reporting and resolution
•        Managing the configuration and change management of all IT components
•        Managing data, including procedures to manage the media library, backup and recovery of data, and proper disposal of media
•        Managing operations so as to reduce business delays and control operating costs


Qualifications and Experience:

•        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year college or university; 10 years of related experience at a senior manager level
•        Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities
•        Excellent organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to organize and delegate
•        Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to carry out instructions, read, analyze and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures as well as to communicate clearly with customers and employees
•        Experience with enterprise system implementations and data conversion (preferably in a bank)
•        Experience implementing controls required to ensure IT performance and security
