Assistant Director of Engineering

Description
Our client, a leading world class hotel resort, based in Bermuda, is seeking an energetic, highly motivated and qualified Maintenance Engineer, to work under the supervision of the Director of Facility Operations.


Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•        Operation and repairs of existing High Pressure Steam Boilers, Chillers, Air Handling Units, AC/DC Drives, Fire System, Emergency Generators, Sewage Plant equipment, Reverse Osmosis Plant, storage tanks, pumps and motors
•        Distributing work orders, weekly scheduling, daily payroll editing
•        Supervising and assisting the boiler room staff
•        Training, ordering and organizing parts and materials and maintaining par stocks
•        Scheduling preventative maintenance of equipment and assisting with trouble-shooting and emergencies
•        Monitoring and maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems as scheduled
•        Assist in the preparation and management of the department’s annual operational and capital budgets
•        Must ensure departmental adherence to brand standards, policies and procedures and be willing to work weekends, public holidays and 24 hour on call duty

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

•        A 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate (or higher) or equivalent qualification is required
•        Minimum five years experience in maintenance and engineering in a large luxury hotel or hospital, three of which must be as an Assistant Director of Engineering or equivalent.
•        Must have proven hands on repair and maintenance experience with boilers, chillers, pumps, AHUs, etc.
•        Demonstrated knowledge and skills of building systems, computer applications, codes, blue prints, wiring diagrams and hydronics
•        Proven, strong organizational and leadership skills
•        Knowledge of EMS Automatic Logic Supervision Control (or similar systems) and an additional trade certificate and inventory management would be an asset
